Salzburg is served by the International Airport Salzburg W.A. Mozart, which is about 20 minutes from the city.
The airport offers connections to the most important national and international airports.
From Italy you can reach Salzburg from Bologna, Florence, Rome Fiumicino and Turin.
From the airport to the city
By Bus
You can take the shuttle bus from the airport. Bus number 2 connects the airport to the railway station, which is located near the centre of Salzburg. Shuttle buses leave every 15-20 minutes; it takes about 30 minutes to reach the railway station.
By Car
From Italy you have to cross the border at Arnoldstein, then continue to Villach by taking the A2. From here you should take the A10 (Autostrada dei Tauri - Tauer Motorway) in the direction of Salzburg.
Important note:
In order to drive on Austria's highways, you need to purchase a sticker called "Vignette" at the price of about 5 euro per week. Stickers are sold by the borders of Austria.
